Where the steppe
still remembers

A family farm 91 km from Almaty, where golden eagles, horseback archers and tea with warm baursaks show you Kazakhstan the way nomads have always lived it.

Welcome to Taldy Farm

Vast steppe serenity,
living nomad traditions

Taldy Farm began in 2017 with a simple idea: to keep the old ways of the steppe alive and share them with anyone ready to slow down. Today our 100 hectares hold an apiary and an apple orchard, horses, camels, sheep, a golden eagle and Kazakh tazy hounds. Our regional Zhamby Atu federation trains here — and every visit ends the way it should on the steppe: at a table, with tea.

Rider with a bow at dusk

Signature experience

Zhamby Atu —
the archer's gallop

An ancient nomad game: a rider at full gallop draws a bow and hits the target without slowing down. Our regional athletes perform for guests — and then the bow is yours, in an archery masterclass with patient coaches for complete beginners and steady hands alike.

Guests with a golden eagle

Kazakh falconry

Golden eagle —
hunter of the sky

For centuries Kazakh berkutchi have raised golden eagles as partners in the hunt. Meet our eagle up close, watch a training session and take the photo you will keep for life — with the great bird resting on your glove.

Inside a decorated Kazakh yurt

Nomad hospitality

The yurt,
tea and baursaks

Step into a felt yurt dressed in hand-made textiles, sit down at a low table and let the samovar do its work. Over tea with fresh baursaks we share stories of nomadic life, help you into national costume for photos and answer every question you came with.

Life on the farm

Small worlds
within 100 hectares

Guests holding a honeycomb frame

Apiary & apple orchard

Put on a veil, lift a frame heavy with honeycomb and taste honey straight from the hive. In late summer the orchard is full of apples — and of course there is jam.

Bactrian camels

Horses & camels

Ride a horse, a two-humped Bactrian camel or a calm donkey. Our team stays by your side — the first step is always the hardest.

Two Kazakh tazy hounds

Kazakh tazy

We breed the tazy, the ancient sighthound of the steppe — elegant, lightning-fast and surprisingly gentle with guests.

Kazakh dastarkhan table

Dastarkhan

A generous Kazakh table: hearty home cooking, vegetables from the farm, our own honey and jam — and always more tea.
